CHRIS BLANCHARD


Master Sommelier Chris Blanchard is the Wine Director and Sommelier for the newly opened Redd Restaurant in Yountville, Napa Valley. He was most recently a sommelier at the prestigious Relais & Chateaux Auberge du Soleil Resort in Rutherford, helping guests navigate the extensive Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence wine list. San Francisco Magazine named Chris as the Critic's Choice Best Wine Director in the August 2006 Food Issue. Chris worked diligently to pass the difficult service and theory sections of the final level of the Master Sommelier exam, after passing all three levels of the Advanced exam on his first try in 2003. I must taste 100 wines in a week through my job as Wine Director at Redd Restaurant in Yountville. Many are amazing examples, full of beautiful aromatics, rich, bright fruit, and long length. However, it is a balance of all elements that make for a truly memorable, outstanding wine.
